Crown of Glory Confirmation Ministry - 6th-8th Grade

 

Crown of Glory seeks to encourage and strengthen a lifestyle of discipleship in Jesus Christ among our young people through the practicing of our faith in worship, service to others in our community, and our day to day service to God.

Confirmation at Crown of Glory is a three year program that begins in the fall of the 6th grade and is completed with the Rite of Confirmation in 9th grade, held each year on Reformation Sunday. The Confirmation program offers a wide variety growth opportunities and flexibility for each person to partner and walk in their faith journey. The program incorporates traditional biblical teaching components, such as Luther’s Small Catechism, a Christ centered message that teaches youth about our Christian faith and Lutheran traditions.

The Gathering

 

The “Gathering” is a ministry focused on experiencing God’s WORD, through worship MUSIC, listing to how others encounter the Word through sharing personal EXPERIENCE, drama, or instruction, and through taking time to connect to the Word and its purpose in our lives through mediation and PRAYER. The Gathering is for all ages and is the opening session for our 6-8th grade Confirmation program. Please check the church calendar for schedule changes throughout the program year. Together, we will discover how the lessons of the Bible apply to day to day life.

 

 

Following the “Gathering” students break into small groups according to grade and gender. Each small group is facilitated and mentored by adult leaders. To close out each evening students are invited to the narthex area outside the sanctuary for a closing prayer and blessing.

 

 

Crown of Glory Confirmation has an ‘open enrollment’ policy, which means all students 6-8th grade are welcome to attend regardless if you are a member of Crown of Glory. Confirmation Camp

 

Confirmation students are invited to attend camp at Green Lake Lutheran Bible Camp (Green Lake Lutheran Ministries) in the summer. A bus ride to and from camp will be available for a minimal cost to each student. Non-confirmation children and youth are welcome to attend camp this week. It is expected that CoG Confirmation students attend camp at least once prior to 9th grade.

 

MULTI-CHILD DISCOUNTS

Green Lake Bible Camp: 6th-12th Grade

 

Operated by Green Lake Lutheran Ministries, this week long summer journey is a chance to make friendships, renew faith, and strengthen your relationship with God. Youth who have completed 6th through 12th grade attend camp at Green Lake Bible Camp in Spicer, MN.  

God Talk and Java - 9th-12th Grade

 

All 9th-12th graders are invited to Dunn Brothers Coffee house in downtown Chaska once a month from 5:00-6:00 p.m.

Come to the coffee house and talk about life, God and everything in between!

Senior High Mission Trips

 

Summer Mission Trip 2013 to Denver, CO and White Water Rafting!

Crown of Glory senior high youth will be heading to serve in Denver, CO the summer of 2013!  Registration for this mission trip has closed and there are 9 senior high youth who will be attending this amazing service event!  In addition to serving at a YouthWorks! mission site in Denver we will be looking forward to a white water rapting high adventure down the Arkansas River!  Our service event dates in Denver will be from July 28 - August 2, 2013.

ELCA National Youth Gathering 2015

Crown of Glory youth travelled to New Orleans in the summer of 2012 to experience the ELCA National Youth Gathering! It was an amazing journey and experience for everyone. The next ELCA National Youth Gathering is scheduled for the summer of 2015 in Detroit, Michigan! Crown of Glory Youth Ministry Team

 

The Youth Ministry Team plans events for middle school and high school youth. This team is responsible for recruiting members of the congregation to help implement the ministry programs that are planned, such as mission trips, outings and community involvement.
